Point Wolf Shelter and The Lakes

The adventure camps are designed for the older scouts who need a more agressive camp and are ready for the challenge. This camp started Friday night with an eight kilometre walk from Alma to Point Wolf on the road. It was a wonderful night for a walk. The stars were out!

It is a great tome for cooking and eating. Some menus were original, some were more traditional.

The day hike on Saturday was to Marvin and Chambers Lake, about eight kilometres from our cabin. The lakes are shallow and isolated. Not many travel this way in the fall.

The lakes are shallow, but still Scouts were able to get their feet wet. The wood was wet. It was hard to get a fire to burn. After lunch we headed home.

Our Scouts looked at pitcher plants that had filled with water. When the ice is removed, the insects that pitcher plant caught and consumed were found trapped in the ice!

It was good time to clown around! Weather was wonderful on Saturday, windy and wet Saturday night, and a little slippery on the road home.

It was a safe trip home!
